Line Tool

Draw perfectly straight lines between any two points. Hold Shift to constrain to horizontal, vertical, or 45° angles.

How to draw a line

Select the Line tool from the toolbar. The context panel shows a Stroke Width slider.

Set stroke width (1-50 px). This controls the thickness of the line.

Choose a colour from the colour picker. The line is drawn in your currently selected colour.

Click the start point and hold your pointer down on the canvas.

Drag to the end point. A live preview appears as you drag. Hold Shift to constrain to 0°, 45°, or 90°.

Release to draw the final line permanently onto the canvas.

Any thickness

Lines from 1 px hairlines to 50 px bold rules. Each line is a separate history entry.

Tips

Shift for perfect angles

Hold Shift to draw perfectly horizontal, vertical, or diagonal (45°) lines without a ruler.

Thick lines as borders

Use stroke width 8-15 px to create bold borders and frames for your artwork.

Build geometric shapes

Combine multiple lines to create custom shapes, stars, and patterns beyond the preset shapes.
