Zoom Tool

Zoom in for detailed pixel work, zoom out for the full picture, and pan around large canvases smoothly.

How to use the Zoom tool

Select the Zoom tool from the toolbar (or press Z ).

Zoom in by clicking on the canvas, or use the + button in the context panel.

Zoom out with the − button, or scroll down with Ctrl+Scroll .

Pan (move the view) by holding Shift and dragging, or use the middle mouse button.

Reset to 100% by clicking the zoom percentage display and typing 100, or pressing Ctrl+Shift+0 .

Zoom controls

Zoom In button

Increases zoom by 10% per click. Zooms to a maximum of 300%.

Zoom Out button

Decreases zoom by 10% per click. Minimum zoom is 5%.

Zoom slider

Quick adjustments between 50% and 150% for everyday use.

Precise input

Click the percentage label and type any value between 5% and 300%.

Ctrl+Scroll

Hold Ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel for smooth, cursor-centred zooming.

Fit to canvas

Resets the view to show the whole canvas at once.

Tips

Pixel-level editing

Zoom to 200-300% for precise pixel-level corrections with the Pencil or Eraser tool. Small details become easy to edit.

Cursor-centred zoom

Hold Ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel — the zoom centres on your cursor position, letting you zoom directly into the area you are editing.

Quick reset

Press Ctrl+Shift+0 to instantly return to 100% zoom when you are done with detail work.
